Make Creamy Peanut Butter

Healthy all natural creamy peanut butter can be made in a home blender. Most commercially available peanut butters contain additives, preservatives and stabilizers to keep them from separating or going bad on the store shelf. Making creamy peanut butter at home allows you to control every ingredient and add only the essentials for a pure peanut taste. Blend peanut butter to use fresh on a sandwich or keep it in the refrigerator in a sealed jar for up to a week. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Remove and discard any pieces of the paper-like skin clinging to the roasted peanuts by squeezing and rolling them gently between your fingers.

2. Pour all the roasted peanuts into the blender and replace the lid. Remove the center piece of the lid to allow access to add the other ingredients.

3. Start the blender on a low grind setting with your hand covering the hole.

4. Remove your hand and slowly drizzle in half of the peanut oil when the peanuts are broken up well enough that chunks are not bouncing around near the lid.

5. Pulse the blender as you add in the rest of the oil. Allow the blender to mix the peanut butter until smooth at a high setting.

6. Stop the blender when the consistency is smooth and use a spatula to taste the unsalted peanut butter. Continue blending as you add in any salt you feel the creamy peanut butter needs.

7. Use the spatula to move the creamy peanut butter into a clean jar. The creamy peanut butter is ready to be used right away or will stay fresh in the refrigerator for a week.
