Cancel A Subscription

Sometimes you may wish to cancel a magazine subscription.

If you read a lot of magazines or comic books, or you like to read the daily newspaper, then you may receive them through a subscription. After a while, you may want to cancel your subscription because you are no longer interested in the magazine, or you may no longer wish to pay for it. In some cases, the magazine, newspaper or comic book subscription may have an auto-renew. To stop receiving the periodical, you must cancel it.

Instructions

1. Locate your account number. Your account should be located on the mailing label, and is usually located above your address for magazines, comic books and mailed newspapers. You can find your account number for a home delivery newspaper in a previous invoice.

2. Contact the customer service department. The customer service department phone number is usually located in one of the first few pages of a magazine or newspaper where the publishing information is located. You may also be able to find the contact information on the magazine's website.

3. Request that the subscription be cancelled and take note of important information. When you call, you should write down the name of the customer service representative, the time that you called and any confirmation number that you may receive.

4. Request a receipt or confirmation that your account was closed. It is a good idea to request that the company send you a written statement acknowledging that your account is closed and your subscription is cancelled.
