Get A Neck Lift With No Cosmetic Surgery

Lines in the neck area develop with age.

As people age, their necklines seem a little softer and less defined, leading to droopiness. Fortunately, you can avoid cosmetic surgery and attempt less drastic techniques to minimize neck issues. Use a combination of cream, cosmetics and fashion to look years younger. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Use neck cream. Apply a neck cream with sunscreen in it every day. Each night, wear a richer night cream. Put it on your neck and decolletage. This will keep the texture of your skin smooth and the hydration will make your neck skin look its best.

2. Contour and shade the area with powder. Brush contour powder that is a shade or two darker than your skin color on your upper neck, under your jawline. With this powder, you can give yourself a sharper jawline. You may look as though you've had a lower face lift.

Go to a department store cosmetics counter to get advice on the right contouring powder shade to use for your complexion. Invest in a high-quality contouring makeup brush.

3. Distract with makeup. Wear makeup that plays up the best features of your face. Use liner that points slightly up on the outer corners of your upper lids. If you wear a richer eye color palette, it will distract from your neck. If you wear a richer or vibrant lip color, it will distract from your neck.

Choose to make either your eyes more dramatic, or your lips, but not both, as you risk looking overly made up if you do both at the same time.

4. Choose earrings. Wear earrings that dangle and have some sparkle or flattering color to them. This helps keep the line of your neck vertical, and it also distracts from your neck to show off your face. Stay away from round earring shapes.

5. Style your hair correctly. Wear hair with a bit of height and interest around your eyes. Choose something that lifts the eye. Do not wear hair down straight, hanging around your neck. Do not wear a bob that curves around under your chin. These styles point right to your neck issues.

6. Choose necklines that are open, and that have a mostly V-neck shape to them. Open several buttons at the top of an open-collared shirt. Wear only colors that are bright, clear and flattering to your skin tone. Avoid turtlenecks, which can actually make your neck appear thicker.
