New York City is a great place to eat a healthy, romantic meal.
Although many people are becoming more aware of living a healthy lifestyle, health and wellness pertains not only to exercise and going to the spa. It also pertains to eating healthy. Restaurants that cater to vegans and vegetarians are becoming more commonplace as people grow concerned about healthy eating, and New York City is no exception.
Pure Food and Wine

The establishment can seat 64 indoors and 20 in the back dining room during winter, and an additional 70 in the private garden when the weather is nice. Whether customers dine inside or outside the restaurant, they will find a sophisticated and romantic ambiance. Zen Palate
Zen Palate opened its doors in 1991 and provides a holistic experience while aiming to be a positive influence on its customers and the community. The restaurant's name derives from the Japanese word "zen," which means "sudden enlightenment," and the French world "palate," which means "sense of taste." Its menu choices date back to ancient China's Buddhist temples. It is from the Zen spirit that the kitchen staff developed the vegetarian meals of the restaurant, while incorporating cuisine from other diverse cultures such as Indian, Malaysian, Mexican and Italian. Its relaxing oriental ambiance with dimmed lights cultivates an atmosphere of not only romance but tranquility. Some of Zen Palate's awards include FoodNetwork.com's "Best of Far-East Favorites" in 2007, New York City's "#1 Vegetarian Restaurant" from 2005 to 2007, and Vogue's "Best Vegetarian Restaurant since 1993." Zen Palate Theatre District is open Monday through Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday noon to 10 p.m.
