Make Gummi Worms

Surprise your children with a snack they are sure to love. Homemade gummi worms make a perfect treat for birthday parties, afternoon fun or a sweet treat along with lunch. Make gummi worms at home for your children that are healthier to eat--without preservatives and chemicals. They not only are better for you but they taste better and can be made in any flavor or color your child likes. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions


1. Add both the flavored gelatin and the unflavored gelatin to a small saucepan and mix them together.


2. Pour the water over the gelatin mixture and stir until a thick ball forms. If you would like a darker color gummi worm then what the flavored gelatin provides, you can add four to five drops of food coloring at the same time you add the water.


3. Place the saucepan onto the stove and heat on medium until the gelatin ball has melted. Stir continuously and be sure to break up any chunks of gelatin form.


4. Pour the hot liquid into a worm-shaped candy mold and place into the freezer to cool for at least 10 minutes.


5. Remove the mold from the freezer and turn it upside down to pop out the gummi worms. Store the gummi worms in the refrigerator in zipper storage bags.
