South Carolina Culinary Colleges

If you love great food, you may be interested in a South Carolina culinary arts program.

South Carolina may not be the first state that comes to mind when thinking of the great culinary colleges of America, but a number of culinary arts programs worth your consideration lie within the borders of the Palmetto State. If you love living in South Carolina and are serious about furthering your culinary education, consider colleges close to home that offer culinary arts degrees.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College

The culinary arts program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College gives students practical experience (in the form of working in the school's dining hall), as well as classroom instruction by established professionals. The program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation's Educational Institute Accrediting Commission. Graduates have a firm grasp of the basic accounting and sanitation required for operating a professional kitchen, as well as coursework in baking, management, menu planning and nutrition.

Guest chefs teaching at the school have included Gale Gand, Michael Laiskonis and Marc Collins. Charlotte's degree programs have been certified by either the American Culinary Federation's Educational Institute Accrediting Commission or the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration.

Students may begin their program of study at the beginning of any academic quarter. Mid-quarter start dates are also possible.
