Run by the Corporation for National and Community Service, Senior Corps connects its members with people and organizations that can utilize their skills all over the United States--including Vinton, Virginia. Volunteers with Senior Corps get training and are ensured the opportunities they get match their abilities, interests and schedules. Perhaps you'd be interested in the foster grandparent program, which connects young people in need of mentoring and support with volunteers age 55 and older.
