Homemade High Calorie Cat Food

High caloric homemade cat food helps felines gain weight.

Felines have specific dietary requirements that can vary over time. A cat recovering from an illness or stressor or an older cat may require a diet that is high in caloric content to add or maintain body weight. Many canned cat foods sold in stores have additives and preservatives that some veterinarians maintain can do more harm than good. Prepare homemade high caloric cat food with natural ingredients to ensure that only the best nutrients nourish your cat's body.

Instructions

1. Grind the whole chicken in small batches, including bones and organs, in a food processor on high until well pureed. Repeat until the chicken has the consistency of canned cat food.

2. Pour the nutritional supplement and water into a small bowl and mix lightly with a spatula.

3. Add the supplement mixture to the ground chicken. Blend well with the spatula.

4. Place the cat food in individual serving containers of 2 to 3 oz. and cover tightly. This recipe provides 45.5 calories per ounce. Refrigerate or freeze.
