Get A Burn Out Of A Nonstick Pan

Clean and care for nonstick pans with nonabrasive cleaners.

Nonstick coating on cookware reduces the need for cooking oil and makes cleanup easier. Despite their nonstick surface, pans can still end up with burned-on stains from food, grease and heat. When you care for your nonstick cookware to avoid stains and maintain the nonstick coating, your pans will last for years. You can get burn stains out of nonstick cookware using cleaning techniques that won't scratch or damage the coating. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of baking soda over the burn stains in the nonstick pan. Add 1 cup of water.

2. Place the pan on the stove top, and heat the mixture to a simmer. Simmer the baking soda and water mixture for five or six minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, and allow the solution to cool so you can touch it without getting burned.

3. Scrub the burn stains with a nylon mesh scrubber. Add two drops of liquid dish soap to the pan and scrub. Rinse the pan with water to wash out the soap and remove the stains.

4. Pour undiluted white vinegar into the pan to treat any remaining burn stains. Allow the pan to soak for five to 10 minutes. Scrub with the nylon mesh scrubber, and then rinse with water.

5. Dry the nonstick pan with a clean, lint-free kitchen towel.
