Make Satay Marinade

You can serve your finished satay over rice for a complete meal.

Satay is an Asian dish consisting of grilled, skewered meat served with a tangy satay sauce. The meat is typically chicken, but other meats such as beef or pork can be used. The meat is first set to marinade in the satay sauce which is similar to other kinds of peanut sauces popular in Thai cooking. After marinating the meat for a couple of hours, it is grilled on wooden skewers and served with or without extra sauce. This sauce offers a simple and delicious way to create a tasty meal. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Crush the garlic.

2. Combine the crushed garlic and the rest of the ingredients with two tablespoons of peanut butter in a mixing bowl. Stir until the ingredients are well blended together.

3. Taste the marinade. Add the rest of the peanut butter if desired. You can also add a small amount of water to thin the sauce, if it is too strong or thick.

4. Set some of the sauce aside to serve with the meat later. Place the meat in a plastic bag or shallow bowl with the remaining marinade and let it marinate for two hours before grilling.
