Decorate boring cupcakes with colorful sprinkles.
Simplify the process of decorating cupcakes with a layer of colorful sprinkles. You can purchase sprinkles in one solid color or assortments to match various holidays, such as black and orange for Halloween or red and green for Christmas. Using sprinkles allows you to give your cupcakes a finished look and color coordinate them to any event in mere minutes, even if you have no cake decorating experience. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Fill a small bowl at least 1 inch deep with your choice of sprinkles.
2. Spread a thick layer of icing onto the top of a cool cupcake and use your knife to smooth the icing. It does not need to be perfectly smooth but try to avoid any obvious lumps or swirls in the icing.
3. Hold the cupcake upside down and dip it into the bowl of sprinkles. Gently turn the cupcake as necessary to completely cover all of the icing with sprinkles.
4. Repeat the process with all of your cupcakes, refilling the bowl of sprinkles as necessary.
