Make Syrup With Brown Sugar

A lovely addition to waffles

Making brown sugar syrup is simple and easy. It does not require many ingredients and it is better to make it at home than buy the processed version from the supermarket. This particular recipe will keep in the refrigerator for up to a month, so you could make a large batch and store it easily. You can use this syrup on waffles, pancakes, fruit salad, sponge cakes and many more delicious foods. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

Make Brown Sugar Syrup

1. Use a mixture of white and brown sugar.

Carefully measure out the white sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup and water. Place into the saucepan.

2. Add your ingredients to a saucepan.

Put the saucepan on the stove to cook. Put your heat up high until the water boils, then reduce the heat and simmer well until the mixture reaches a syrupy consistency. This will probably take about 10 to 15 minutes.

3. Butter will give the recipe the right texture.

Add in the butter (or margarine) and the nuts. Keep the pan simmering and keep stirring until all the butter has melted and blended in.

4. Syrup is great on pancakes.

Take the mixture off the heat. Let the mixture cool down for a few minutes before serving. The mixture should thicken as it cools.

5. Serve the syrup in a pretty jug.

Serve the syrup. You can now add the syrup to the food you are serving directly or you can place in a pretty jug so that people can help themselves.
