Color Hair White

Color Hair White

Dying hair pure white can be quite an undertaking. If done incorrectly, not only can it yield a terrible hair color, but it can also cause hair to break off and fall out in clumps. If you do succeed at producing white hair, there's also a certain degree of unpredictability of the tones your white hair will reflect. It could easily turn out looking brassy or purple. You may feel like your only option is to see an expensive professional stylist. Still, if you know the secrets, you can dye your hair white at home for less money. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Bleach your hair. Use a volume 30 kit unless your hair is already really damaged. If you have really damaged hair, you can use a volume 20, but you will get better results with a 30. Put on gloves to protect your skin. Follow the directions for mixing the bleach and apply it to the hair. Loosely pile your hair on the top of your head, making sure there are no particularly tight clumps. Put the shower cap on your head, making sure all hair is inside it. Sit under a warmer if you have one. If you do not have a warmer, pass a blow dryer back in forth to keep the hair bleach warm. Do this for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse, even if your hair is not as light as you'd like it to be.

2. Repeat the bleaching process three to four times. This is the secret to getting you hair really white. The last time you bleach your hair, you may find that you experience some hair loss or breakage. This is normal. Do not brush, comb or pull at your hair.

3. Apply the hair toner, using the directions on the packaging. This will remove any remaining color tones from your hair; for example, if your hair looks orange or blue in the light.

4. Thickly slather your hair in the deep conditioning mask. Pile your hair on top of your head and inside the second shower cap. Apply a steady stream of hot air from the hair dryer for 15 minutes. This will help the conditioner absorb into the hair. Leave the conditioner in for another 15 minutes, then rinse.

5. Condition your hair daily but process it as little as possible the following few days after bleaching. This includes blow drying, flat ironing and applying products. Your hair should respond to the conditioning after about a week and should look like your normal, healthy hair.
