Homemade Garden Snake Traps

Snakes can be caught with homemade traps.

Snakes can be unwelcome visitors when they wander into a home or backyard. While many snakes are harmless, the United States does have some highly venomous varieties. For this reason, you should never attempt to trap a snake unless you are absolutely sure that the snake is not poisonous. For poisonous snake removal, contact your local animal control. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Open the pizza box and glue the mouse traps onto the bottom surface, sticky side up. Avoid removing the sticky side protectors until you are ready to lay the trap.

2. Cut a 3-inch opening into each side of the trap so that a curious snake will realize there are multiple points of escape.

3. Place the trap in an area where you have actually seen a snake. Snakes will travel along the same path consistently.

4. Check the trap daily to determine whether there is a snake inside.

5. Verify that the snake you caught is not venomous and then spray the snake with some Pam cooking spray to help it free itself from the glue trap. Once the snake is free, place it in a breathable sack and relocate the snake to an area where there are no people around.
